Submit Your Artwork to a Special Master Gallery Show: “The Master: Above & Below”
The Master Gallery, in conjunction with The Board of Directors, and in celebration of our recent listing on the National Register of Historic Places, is pleased to announce a group art show entitled The Master: Above & Below.
The show will run from August 4 thru October 29, 2016, with an opening reception on Thursday, August 4th from 7- 8:30pm.
All residents and friends of the Master are welcome to submit artwork for consideration. The theme of the show will be “our neighborhood.” Artwork must relate to the building, and our neighborhood including Manhattan Valley, the Hudson River and Riverside Park.
Mediums can range from photography, water color, pencil, charcoal, oil, etc.
All entries must be compatible with the hanging system. If your work is selected we will discuss the specifics for hanging properly.
Submissions should be emailed as a jpeg to: mastersdesigncommittee@gmail.com. Please include title, dimensions, your name, address, email address and phone number. All submissions must be received no later than Wednesday, June 1st. Final selections will be made Thursday, June 30th.
The installation of the show is scheduled for Saturday, July 30th. If selected, all artwork must be delivered and ready for hanging by Monday, July 25th.

Gallery Opening Reception This Thursday, May 5th
Friends, Neighbors and Art Enthusiasts,
Join us at a reception for the opening of a unique art installation at the Master Gallery on Thursday, May 5th 7-8:30 PM. Master resident and artist Peter Glebo has turned photographic portraits of staff and fellow residents of the building into dramatic works of art mounted on four 8-foot panels on the Gallery wall.
The installation will be displayed from May 5th through July 30th, 2016.

Water Shutoff Tuesday, May 10
Dear Resident:
The building will be without hot and cold water on the following day in order to perform repairs to the main domestic water riser:
- TUESDAY, May 10, from 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
The laundry room will be closed during the above referenced date and time period.
IMPORTANT: Be sure all faucets are TURNED OFF during the shutoff. A faucet left open can cause major flooding.

It’s Official! Master Building Listed on the National Register of Historic Places
Dear Shareholders and Residents,
We are very pleased to share with you that the Master Apartments (Master Building) has been officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This designation comes just a few weeks before the 87th anniversary of the laying of the building’s cornerstone on March 24, 1929. We know that you share our pride in The Master Apartments being added to this prestigious list of buildings of historical and architectural significance. A plaque is in the process of being ordered to note this distinction, with an unveiling to be planned for later on in the spring.
